Maui – Day seven

by Miles Benson

I’m beginning to realize this isn’t my home, and I’m going to have to go back to “reality” again.

Isn’t it weird how something you’ve never experienced becomes so much closer to feeling like home than what “home” actually is?

Anyway, we ate at Charley’s, and had amazing eggs benedict. Charley’s is a place that Willie Nelson frequents quite often. It’s in the hippie town of Pa’ia.

We drove the hana highway again, and saw things we missed. We wanted to drive all the way to west Maui back up through upcountry and into the north shore.

So we went to hana, saw the red sand beach.

Went to a crazy cool general store, which was also a bait and tackle shop and a hardware store.

Then drove through crazy cliffs in east maui all the way through dried Makena lava, which TOOK FOREVER!!! because the roads were all fucked up because of the earthquake that happened there two years ago. So we kept traveling through upcountry, and passed free-range cows on the road and down to Kihei where we ate at Moose McGuilcuddy’s.
